Filler Dissolving
The dissolving process involves an injection of hyaluronidase enzyme into the area where the filler was injected. The enzyme breaks down the hyaluronic acid molecules that make up most dermal fillers, allowing them to return to their original state.

Here is what to expect during your filler dissolving appointment at De Gezichtskliniek.
1. Consultation
Before the treatment, you'll have a consultation with your doctor to discuss your reasons for dissolving the filler and assess whether it’s the right choice for you. The doctor will asses if potentially more than 1 treatment may be needed.
2. Treatment Preparation
The area where the filler is will be cleaned, and in some cases, a numbing cream can be applied (ask your doctor) to minimize any discomfort from the injection. Though hyaluronidase injections themselves are generally quick, the area can be sensitive.
3. Injection of Hyaluronidase
The hyaluronidase enzyme will be injected directly into the area with the filler. You might feel a slight sting or pinch when it’s injected. The treatment typically takes just a few minutes, depending on how much filler is being dissolved.
4. Immediate Effects
You’ll start to see some changes within hours, as the enzyme starts breaking down the filler. Full results can take a few days to become fully visible. The treated area may experience some swelling or redness right after, which is normal and usually temporary.
5. Post-Treatment Care
After the treatment, you are advised to avoid things like heavy exercise, excessive heat (like saunas or hot showers), or massaging the treated area for a day or so. You’ll also want to stay away from any irritants or skincare products that could interfere with healing.
6. Follow-Up
Sometimes, a follow-up treatment from 2-4 weeks might be needed if the filler isn’t fully dissolved after the first round, especially if a larger amount of filler is being dissolved.
